lustlustlust

so i wanted to redefine the blog again but found myself completely uninspired. it's been a hard couple of weeks! works been really a mix of highs and lows but i need to snap out of it and find what i love about being creative again. so i'm staring at bright colors, wearing lots of dresses, gonna do my nails pretty (i didn't even ever LIKE sparkles!) and getting ready to say goodbye to my favorite band ever, rx bandits. bitter bittersweet but it's going to be beautiful. i'll try to keep up with the blog, promise. here's my inspiration for the week :)

chop chop

I'd been thinking.... about making a change... and I had monday off work. Had to take care of a cell phone ticket and getting a CA drivers license again but I only sorta took care of them...aka set a court date and decided to make an appointment rather than wait in line at the DMV. Then I took grandma to breakfast and Target to check out Tucker. After, we stopped by the market to get some things to cook and grandma said, "isn't that where your mom takes me to get my hair cut?"

So, we went in...and VOILA! Chop chop :)
New 'do and new Tucker dress :)

Frugal Fest

Today was so fun! Thanks to the girls at Swapaholics. I'll post more pics and a review tomorrow when I get my pics uploaded from the event and snap pics of some of my favorite finds. I had so much fun and it is such a great idea!

I LOVE LA

I'm freaking out. I don't necessarily believe in fate but several things and planets aligned to get me home at this exact moment. I do believe that things happen for a reason and when a door closes, life has other plans for you. I loved being home just in time for the Lakers/Celtics series. I'm such a sports nut. College football is my #1 but I do love my Lakers. I went to happy hours and enjoyed games with my dad. Last night I went out in Hermosa Beach and it was a crazy celebration! SO FUN! The whole city of Los Angeles was buzzing. Made me emotional the last two days for sure.

So, tomorrow the swapaholics are hosting a Summer Swap here in SoCal. Yet I'm having a hard time trying to get anyone to go with me! (my sister wants just said she'll go! yay!) I am so down for this, what a great idea. I know jenloveskev is into the group and I love her fashion, so I am there! Nothing pays off if you're not a little brave, right? My mom will totally be down to go. haha and I can spot a gem anywhere. Here's all the info if you're in LA!

Hope to see you there! Have a great weekend :)

lust lust lust

Summer is coming and I've got two things on my MUST DO (D.I.Y.) list.

I came across this adorable Italian blogger (internodiciotto) and noticed she made herself some Chloe-inspired shorts! How brilliant!! I just love how feminine and flirty the edges are.

I am a huuuge Chloe Sevigny fan and she is a very appropriate face for the brand... I love seeing her in the commercials, I think she is fresh and fun. I also love her acting... she is such a nut on Big Love. I love her and Ginnifer Goodwin.

I'm going to be on the hunt for some perfect jeans to cut up for this!

I saw this Hermes ad (I think) in Vogue first but today I saw it in my new Allure magazine (which inspired me in more ways than one... and I also actually saw a jewelry piece I did for one of my contract jobs... exciting!) anyway, in Allure they gave you a how-to guide on the hair do.

I've been collecting scarves at street fairs for a while now, I have a really beautiful Oscar de la Renta scarf as well as three Vera Wang scarves. The funny thing is I really just pick the scarves that catch my eye and they turn out to be designer. I guess I am in the right field!

So I might try this look this weekend... I have a long white/blue scarf that would be perfect. Maybe we'll go to the Bleeker Street Fair on Sunday so I can pick up some boyfriend jeans for my other project :)

HAPPY WEEKEND everyone! xo
