Summer Skin

Goings on: It's been reaaaaally hot in Los Angeles this last week. Would have been cool, because work was slow and I had a couple days off but I've been SO SICK :( well I did spent a little time outside and I got some new flip flops! 

I lusted over a very expensive pair of sandals like this yeaaaars ago. So I saw them and kind of had to have them. Less than $10 and super comfy! Funky tan lines are coming, sure, but they didn't color my feets brown after a little pool time :) I should pick up a back up pair...

Kind of having a quarter life crisis. Trying to figure out me, life, relationships, etc. I wish people would be more open and honest. I think life is short and there's no time to love everything around you. I am having a lot of positive new people in my life, and that makes me happy. 

And today RX Bandits released their (final!) summer tour dates. Bummer but excited to travel and enjoy with friends. Also excited to see Death Cab for Cutie, here and in SF :) I'll be up north quite a few times this summer for shows and a certain ladies shower and wedding (!!!!) I couldn't be more excited for the summer. 

Why am I up? Can you believe they called me up for jury duty tomorrow? BOOO! 

(BTW, I MADE/LISTED/SOLD A PAIR OF EARRINGS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A 24 HOUR SPAN..... FEELING KIND OF EXCITED ABOUT CREATING:)

I went to the mall yesterday and stumbled upon the new Ray Ban frames... holy cow I am in love! I have been wanting to buy a black pair of wayfarers and I'm glad I had to wait so long... I'm going to scoop these puppies up sooon!

I also saw another pair that looked really good on me... but do I need 3 pairs of designer sunnies? They were marked down to $40! If I go back next week and they're still there... it's meant to be so we'll leave it to fate.

I am also lusting over summer travel... I am used to bouncing back and forth from coast to coast so being in one side for so long has me feeling cabin fever! Isn't that weird? So I am looking at tour dates, flights.... etc. I'll leave that list for my Tuesday 10 things. ;)


Tonight I am going to see Matt Embree's Love You Moon at the El Rey. The show is on Tuesday :D LOL! ooops! I can't wait. He's amazing and oh-so sexy! I love his voice and his stage swagger. I am excited. Must charge my camera.

Last, I am super, madly crazy in lust with Gaga! LOVELOVELOVE her... love her style, love her brain, love her moves. I can't stop watching the Alejandro video. 11/09

This month was my birthday month. My birth DAY is November 9 but it was 11/9 all month :) it was an insane whirlwind of fun and madness and emotion. I was fired on the 3rd day of the month and proceeded to have 2 days of depression, until my best friend flew in from North Carolina and I was forced to put it aside in my mind.

Then, my old job asked me to fly home to LA to help them with a huge, crazy Neiman Marcus order. So the day after my birthday Eric dropped me off at JFK at 5AM and I had a day to hang out with my dog, lunch with my parents, and trek 2 hours with Melissa to see 311 on their fall tour opener. I saw a lot of old friends at that show, celebrated Mel and I's mutual birthday week... just had a ridiculous amount of fun.



The next day it was back to work and I crammed in long days and got tons and tons of stuff done. I finished my work load and didn't have to work Saturday so Friday night I went to see my Lojic boys. It was a great show, great bar, great night. The next night we went out in Long Beach for my sister's boyfriend's sister's birthday (a grand family affair) that ended with a late night stop at Wockano.



Sunday was my cousin's baby shower, which I was very happy to be in town for. Got to hang with the family and the kids and eat some crazy good food and play the rice, tp and all the other random games.



That rounded out the middle of November... I didn't do much the other days I was in town other than work. Flew back to NYC on the 20th and I'll blog about that week tomorrow :)

To-do...

Friday night I'm jumping on a redeye to Baltimore to finally see my love. Going to be there for 5 days and then we're driving (yes, driving!) to Chicago to meet Eric's family. Here's my to-do list. We haven't seen each other in more than TWO MONTHS so I want this to be really special.


10. Go see The Orphan because Eric likes these cheesy horror movies and I heard there's a great twist at the end.

9. Check out Sue the T-Rex at the Field Museum. She is the largest, most preserved T-Rex in (known) existence. I haven't been to a real museum in years. I want to see dinosaurs! The Field Museum also has Egyptian mummies and Mayan artifacts. Sign me up!


8. RX Bandits in Chicago Thursday night. Lots of old friends going to the show and Eric is a huge fan. I really need to pick up their new album, heard it's great!

7. Hiking in Laurel near where Eric lives. I'm sure we'll find somewhere and make it a nice day for some photo op's :)

6. Go see 500 Days of Summer because Zooey is wearing my stuff in it! :D

5. Enjoy a day in Baltimore. Maybe an O's game, stop at the aquarium, sushi date, hunt for the perfect crab cakes. Sunset over the harbor... I can't imagine anything better.


4. Work out!! Yes this is a bit high on the list but we need to get healthy. I am going to make my babe some delish dinners but we're going to get out and walk around, find a pool where he can teach me to swim (better cause he's a pro) and spend some time downstairs in the fitness center.

3. Lunch date at Giordano's :D hopefully we make it to Chi on Wednesday because that is the anniversary of our first "date" and my first serious Chicago pizza. I think I only managed to eat a slice and a half but it was deliiish. He says that's where he knew he liked me, and that date did rekindle my crush :)


2. Lollapalooza! Probably just the Friday end of it but Kings of Leon are aaaall I need to make me happy :) I had tons and tons of fun at the festival last year and need a taste of it this year.


1. Lay on the couch and cuddle up to some HGTV! still no real idea where we're going to end up but we're going to need decor whenever/wherever we move :)

Whirlwind summer trip

In the last two crazy weeks I did a lot of traveling. A LOT.


It started July 31st with Rich, Sophia + I flying from LAX to......

Salt Lake City, UT to.....
Atlanta, GA to our destination of.....

CHICAGO :) for 5 fabulous nights (Lollapalooza and sightseeing)

from there I (alone) flew to....
Washington, DC where I saw a show then took a train to.....
Newport News, VA for the night then hopped up to....
Norfolk, VA for another show then back to....
Newport News to crash before flying out of....
Richmond, VA where my flight was oversold so I headed to...

NEW YORK CITY! for the night :)

then I flew via...
Cincinnati, OH and made an emergency stop in...
Albuquerque, NM before returning home to...

LOS ANGELES on (August 11) Monday night.


Crazy, amazing times. I probably took every form of public transit available. I have to give props to Chicago, I think I'm in love...
