New year, new posts

Wow I am such a slacker! The end of 2011 turned out to be a little turbulent. Nothing much to report so I was over playing on pinterest and tumblr. Inspiration pictures, quotes and videos go a long way :) Things right now are a little crazy but going good. 2012 is going to be fun, right? 


Here's some NYE highlights, because it's always my favorite and this year I had a really amazing night. I went to see Henry Clay People with my cousins and although I'd never listened to them it turned out to be SO GREAT! They played a set and towards midnight, they started playing a bunch of covers of everyones favorite songs like Don't Stop Believin' and When Doves Cry. Eventually they ended up pulling people onstage and all my friends and I were up there, singing and dancing. Perfect tone to start the year on and def a night to remember :) I love having a great show to go to on a holiday, no pressure, no fuss and makes it so much more special.

Summer Skin

Goings on: It's been reaaaaally hot in Los Angeles this last week. Would have been cool, because work was slow and I had a couple days off but I've been SO SICK :( well I did spent a little time outside and I got some new flip flops! 

I lusted over a very expensive pair of sandals like this yeaaaars ago. So I saw them and kind of had to have them. Less than $10 and super comfy! Funky tan lines are coming, sure, but they didn't color my feets brown after a little pool time :) I should pick up a back up pair...

Kind of having a quarter life crisis. Trying to figure out me, life, relationships, etc. I wish people would be more open and honest. I think life is short and there's no time to love everything around you. I am having a lot of positive new people in my life, and that makes me happy. 

And today RX Bandits released their (final!) summer tour dates. Bummer but excited to travel and enjoy with friends. Also excited to see Death Cab for Cutie, here and in SF :) I'll be up north quite a few times this summer for shows and a certain ladies shower and wedding (!!!!) I couldn't be more excited for the summer. 

Why am I up? Can you believe they called me up for jury duty tomorrow? BOOO! 

(BTW, I MADE/LISTED/SOLD A PAIR OF EARRINGS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A 24 HOUR SPAN..... FEELING KIND OF EXCITED ABOUT CREATING:)

Gem show

WELL! I had a rather amazing weekend. Big family party on Saturday and I got to hang out with all of my fabulous and beautiful cousins. Sunday mom and I went to Long Beach for a gem show. wowowow. It was at the Queen Mary and we only went for an hour because I knew I wasn't prepared to spend a ton of money. Next time, I'll be ready!! ;)

This is what I came home with:

I made mom a birthday gift with similar pearls but I ran out... I am obsessed with labradorite and this cut caught my eye... I already made some earrings I'm going to put up on my etsy shop in a couple days. And I know exactly what I'm going to do with the turquoise, just gotta go grab some chain this weekend. I am really excited and can't wait to do some more designing! And of course, I'll come back and share with everyone. Have a great week :)
