what can I say? I'm a slacker!

...but no, I haven't really been slacking :(

I've been a busy bee... and I've been on the computer with things to blog about but I just really lack concentration. Anyway, my birthday was not awesome. I lost my phone (aka missed all my birthday calls and texts... very disappointing!) and realized a lot of things... I'm happy to say that I have made some changes. Small steps, but I am proud of myself. I did have a nice lunch with my family and I got a great gift from a really great friend...

finally some real sunnies! best gift I've ever gotten :)

I've been working hard... I really love my job. It's a great place to be. I have a lot of positive, gorgeous, fun and young people around me... it's great. But it's not a piece of cake, I am working hard! And it's a little frustrating at times... but it's really refreshing to me how simple and natural design feels, at least the production side. It is something that the designer has commented on as well. It's great.

I produced my first Neiman Marcus ad, worked a crazy stressful day getting everything all together and perfect... aaaand the next day, they decided they weren't going to go with it. But that's the way it goes in the industry, I can't take it personal. So, someday it'll be my work in the ad, I just have to be patient!

(here's what it would have looked like... I made everything minus the small earrings and the pendant)

That's all for now, I feel like that was a good update! ;)

A letter.

Dear Red States:

We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes California , Hawaii , Oregon ,Washington , Minnesota, Wisconsin ,Michigan , Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California.

To sum up briefly: You get Texas , Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood. We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom. We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss. We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama . We get two-thirds of the tax revenue, you get to make the red states pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families.

Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their children's caskets coming home. We do wish you success in Iraq, and hope that the WMDs turn up, but we're not willing to spend our resources in Bush's Quagmire.

With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners), 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools plus Stanford , Caltech and MIT.

With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University , Clemson and the University of Georgia . We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.

Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals than we lefties.

Finally, we're taking the good pot, too. You can have that dirt weed they grow in Mexico.

Peace out,
Blue States

nobody likes you when you're 23...

I really REALLY liked 23. It was crazy. A little rough. I started it in Colorado... a whirlwind 12 months later I am back in Los Angeles.

I feel like I learned a lot. I feel like I've grown a lot. But that could all be in my head :) we'll see. Somehow I'm tested everyday. I've learned to appreciate the highs, because the lows come quickly.

I have a lot of self reflection to do but I won't do it on here.

Instead!

BIRTHDAY WISHES!

-airplane ticket to Baltimore for new years to visit my girls and boys.

(from pinklovesbrown)

-tops/tees/hats/scarves/shoes
(not exactly these but kind of, nothing crazy I love my basics)

What I REALLY wish is that I could be with the ones I love for my birthday, yet they are all spread out all over from Colorado to Ohio to South Carolina to Chicago and Baltimore... so, I guess I'll have lots to look forward to next year. I'm saving my pennies.

I have no idea still what I am doing for my birthday. Seems like when I plan it doesn't work out, so I am working my birthday weekend and hopefully going to Vegas the weekend after!

yay exciting :) I hope 24 is good to me...

halloween is my favorite!

On Friday night I skipped out on a Zack Hexum show with some friends to hit up a Halloween party and I don't regret it! I love Halloweentime and any excuse to celebrate it! :)

Here are some pics of my costume this year:
